Let's fix this! Roller ball bearings are too fast and do not
provide any "stiction" for proper smooth startup
and stopping motion. Having the mount's rocker box riding
on a small diameter footprint instead of at the perimeter
of the ground board is an invitation to wobble. Finally, the
mount's weight should transfer directly into the ground board
feet, not halfway to the azimuth bolt - in order to eliminate
flexure and possible vibration.
Our laminate rings and
1/4" thick Teflon pads and positioning
are the right combination.
