Materials
- Wood:
Finnish Birch- combines light weight and stiffness.
Most commercial telescope bases use
heavy, porous particle board.
- Bearings
Surfaces: Ebony star and virgin Teflon.
- Hardware:
Locking knobs in brass wood inserts secure collapsible bases ridigly.
Stainless steel 3/8-16 bolt, flanged bushing, embedded t-nut and
lock nut provide secure rotation without bolt contacting wood
surface.
- Finish:
Up to eight coats of professional sprayed satin polymer.
Other
- Clamshell rings
(allows rebalance and rotation of your telescope).
- Wood altitude
bearings (to use rotating rings on Dobsonian mount).
- Complete Sky
Commander Digital Setting Circle system installed.
